Registration Glossary of Term's
CRN
A CRN is a Course Reference Number. Every section has a 5-digit registration number.
Variable credit course
When you register for a variable credit course the credits default to '1'. To change the credits, go to Registration Tools/Change Class Options. Select the term. In the box next to the credit hours, make your changes (whole numbers only) and submit. Review your schedule for accuracy.

What do the codes next to the courses if the checkbox for registration is not available?
NR - Not available
SR - Student Restriction
C - Closed, section is at capacity
Changing lab sections without dropping the lecture
You can change lab sections by adding the lab section you want at the same time you drop the lab section you don't want. Use the drop down box next to the lab you are dropping and select "Drop Course on Web". Before you select 'Submit Changes", add the CRN of the lab you want to the Add Classes Worksheet. Now Submit Changes. Check your schedule for accuracy.
Faculty Override
Instructors can give permission for students to enter a closed or restricted course by releasing the student on Ursa . They will need the student's Bear number, and the registration number of the course. After the faculty release is processed the student will have to complete the registration process.
Course Pre-requisites
Prerequisites will be checked at the time of registration. Students not meeting the prerequisites of the course they are attempting to enter will not be able to register on Ursa . Please check the current catalog for prerequisite information or contact the departments.
